Bikes, Hikes & Setting Lights
Lazily exploring Hilton Head's laid-back outdoor vibe, amid the ideally mild weather, is perhaps one of our favorites of all Inspirato family activities. If you're looking for casual family (or couple's) activity, start with these.
Morning: Sunrise Stroll. A walk on the nearby beach is perfect here, thanks to hard-packed sand a short ways back from the coastline. Wander down to the shoreline to watch the sunrise on the widest and most gracious beach on the island.
Midday: Family Biking. Hilton Head is a great place for biking with kids. Your Destination Concierge can reserve beach cruisers for both kids and adults. We encourage you to spend an entire morning or afternoon cruising the beach-adjacent bike paths followed by pedaling through the streets of Palmetto Dunes, with an occasional stop to wander onto the beach or to look around.
Evening: The Island's Best Sunset. Enjoy a spectacular sunset in the shadow of the famed red-and white-striped lighthouse at The Quarterdeck in Harbour Town Marina in Sea Pines. Alternatively, try dining at San Miguel's, across the Street in Shelter Cove Marina, and then catch the summer fireworks afterward.

Forecasting Your Hilton Head Vacation
Hilton Head Island experiences pleasant, mild weather year-round. Summer months are the warmest, with average highs in the upper 80s, while winter temperatures tend to hover in the upper 50s and low 60s. July and August are the rainiest months, although summer showers tend to move through and dissipate quickly. Hilton Head's oceanfront location makes it a fairly humid destination.
